COVID-19 cases across the region increased Wednesday

The Grey Bruce Health unit added four new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, one in Kincardine, one in Owen Sound, one in Saugeen Shores, and one in The Blue Mountains. There are 45 active cases. Two residents are currently hospitalized with the virus. 

Huron Perth Public Health added eight new cases, six in North Perth and two in Perth East. There are 64 active cases. Five residents are currently hospitalized with the virus. 

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added seven new cases, including four in Wellington County. There are 28 active cases in Wellington. Three residents are currently hospitalized with the virus.

Health officials reported an additional 780 new COVID-19 cases in Ontario on Wednesday, as well as six more deaths related to the disease.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
