GBHU managing case under investigation for Omicron Variant

UPDATE (4:32 p.m.): The Medical Officer of Health for Grey-Bruce, Dr. Ian Arra, confirms the case being investigated is a "resident from Grey-Bruce", but declined to be more specific due to privacy concerns. Original story is below....

The Grey Bruce Health Unit says it is managing a COVID-19 case that quote-"conforms with the case definition of "Patient under Investigation for Omicron"".

According to a media release, the health unit is "conducting an enhanced management of the case and high risk contacts while they await the result from the advanced whole genome sequencing".

The release does not specifically mention if the case under investigation is in someone from Grey or Bruce County, only that they are managing the case under investigation.
