UPDATE: High winds keeping line crews busy

High winds sweeping the region are keeping lines crews busy Saturday.

Hydro One is reporting a multitude of outages scattered across Huron, Perth, Bruce, Grey, and Wellington. Outages are also being reported across southwestern Ontario along the Hwy. 401 corridor and northeast towards central Ontario.

"The outages and damage are significant, and we expect customers in the hardest hit areas to be without power overnight," read a Tweet from the company.

At Saturday's peak, the Hydro One outage map showed upwards of 143,000 customers without power across the province. Even Hydro One had technical difficulties.
