COVID-19 cases associated with schools continue to be recorded

As the holiday break approaches for schools, COVID-19 cases associated with schools continue to be recorded.

In the Avon-Maitland District School Board, there have been five cases confirmed associated with five different schools since December 10.

The schools affected are Listowel District, Clinton Public, Howick, Bluewater Coast Elementary and Little Falls Public.

In the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board, there are just two cases being monitored, one associated with St. Mary's in Goderich and the other St. Joseph's in Stratford.

Both of those cases were confirmed last week.

In the Bluewater District School Board, associated cases confirmed since December 10 include one with Highpoint Community School, one with Mildmay-Carrick and a third with the Education Centre.

This is the last week of class before a two week break for students. Classes will continue until Friday, December 18 with students scheduled to return to class on Monday, January 3.

Students are also being sent home with rapid antigen test kits that can be used before returning to class.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
