"Ham Slam Homecoming" takes place this weekend in Seaforth

Seaforth will host the 4th Annual Ham Slam Homecoming this weekend.

The unique event started shortly after the Seaforth Centenaires entered the Western Ontario Athletic Association's Senior Hockey League, and has evolved into a fun, well-attended event over the past number of years, according to Centenaires executive member Brett Lee.

Lee says "We do the Ham Toss, where people throw sealed-up hams out on the ice after we score our first goal, sort of like a teddy bear toss, but like our own, crazy version of it."

Former National Hockey League player Dave McLIwain will also be in attendance at the event and is expected to drop the puck prior to the Centenaires matchup that evening with the Clinton Radars.

The event begins on Saturday, December 18th at 6:30 p.m., with the hockey game scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
