Mapleton Township approves 2022 budget

Mapleton Township has approved the budget for 2022.

The official release states that council approved a 1.64 percent increase in the overall municipal tax rate. Additionally, there will be an increase of $7.64 per $100,000 of assessment. Some of the major projects that are featured in the budget for Mapleton include the Drayton Water Tower being completed and fully operational, upgrading the water well supply capacity, upgrading the wastewater pumping station and $2.6 million in Road Improvements.

The release also says the budget will accommodate modest growth that will "ensure and moderate the tax burden downwards and still provide for the sustainability of the Township’s roads, bridges, and other assets."
