Local school boards still waiting for instructions

The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board says the spread of COVID-19 has prompted them to ask students to prepare for the possibility of remote learning after the Christmas Break.

Students from Gr. 4 to 12 are being asked to take home their Chromebooks in the event of a school closure in the New Year.

The board is also working to distribute devices to students in grades K-3 with support from IT.

The Ministry of Education and Grey-Bruce Public Health have not indicated that they anticipate schools being closed after the Christmas break.

In emails to CKNXNewsToday.ca, officials from both the Avon Maitland District School Board and Bluewater District School Board say any move to remote learning will be ordered by the province.

And preparations are in place if that is the case.
