Latest provincial measures 'hurts real people' according to Restaurants Canada

Restaurants Canada has released a statement in light of new restrictions announced by the government today, saying the data they have seen shows that restaurants are not the problem.

The statement, posted on restaurantscanada.org, says "we continue to be singled out and have never been allowed to meet with the Chief Medical Officer, or the Ministry of Health to discuss data and strategies for restaurants."

They say the decision by the provincial government "hurts real people who are seeing their life's work destroyed", and that they need support right now.

In addition to the statement, Restaurants Canada has asked the provincial government to introduce an "immediate infusion of grants to restaurants", as well as a deferral of HST payments to allow restaurants to keep money in their hands.
