Charges laid following assault with a weapon

A North Perth resident has been charged following a recent incident involving assault with a weapon.

Perth County OPP responded to a call on December 17th just before 2 a.m. after a report that someone had just been assaulted and threatened at a residence on Perth Line 72, in the Municipality of North Perth. Officers arrived and upon completion of an investigation, it was discovered that the suspect had an edged weapon during the altercation, and uttered threats of death to the victim. There were no injuries sustained during the incident.

A 62-year-old native of North Perth has been charged with Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm. The accused was released from custody and has a court date scheduled at a later date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford to answer to the charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
