Police find stolen vehicle destroyed by fire

Huron County OPP are investigating a recent vehicle theft and arson.

On December 29th, police were notified by a caller that their 2015 Ford Escape was stolen from their residence located on Winnipeg Road in Vanastra. The vehicle was taken sometime between 10:30 p.m. on December 28th and 1:00 a.m. on December 29th. About an hour later police received a call about a burnt out vehicle located at a nearby gravel pit. Officers attended the scene and confirmed it was the stolen Ford Escape.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
