Emergency summit on hospital crisis

The leader of the provincial Liberal Party is convening a "emergency summit" on the "hospital crisis" this morning.

The summit will include the leaders of the NDP and Green parties but not Premier Doug Ford.

Late last week, Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca invited Ford to participate in the summit to come up with ideas to help hospitals as they become overwhelmed by the surge of COVID-19 patients.

This morning's summit will include "a group of sector leaders with healthcare expertise" although the advisory did not get anymore specific.

There is a media conference planned for after the summit.
