Goderich approves amendment for apartment plan

Goderich council approved a zoning amendment that will allow for a new apartment building at the south end of the town.

The amendment affects a property at the intersection of Bayfield Road and Highway 21.

The former Candle Light Restaurant used to be located on the property.

Goderich Mayor John Grace says the new owners brought forward the official plan amendment and the plan is to put a four-story and a five-story apartment building on the property.

That is something Grace says is needed in the community.
