Perth County OPP charge resident with abduction

A North Perth resident is facing a charge following a missing person investigation in the Municipality of North Perth.

On January 12, 2022, just after 11:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of missing 11-year-old youth from a residence at a Listowel address. During the investigation, police allege the youth was located with a family member, who was arrested and charged. There were no injuries as a result of the abduction.

A 40-year-old resident of Listowel, has been charged with:

- Abduction in contravention of a court order - receive or harbour

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
