Crash launches car into Owen Sound Church

Owen Sound Police officers are investigating after a vehicle had struck the side of Central West Side United Church located at 310 10th Street West, Owen Sound.

Numerous witnesses called 911 after observing the collision on the busy throughway.

Officers alleged a two vehicle collision slammed a Hyundai Venue with such force that it was launched off the roadway, eventually coming to rest up against the stairs of Central West Side Church.

The Owen Sound Fire Department had to extricate the driver from the Hyundai after he became trapped inside as a result of the extensive damage.

Both involved drivers were transported to Grey Bruce Health Services by Ambulance, but thankfully each only sustained minor injuries. Damage to the Church was also minor.

A driver of a Lexus was charged with Red Light - Fail to Stop contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
