Midwestern Ontario logs more COVID-19 cases heading into weekend

More new COVID cases were logged in Midwestern Ontario heading into the weekend.
Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health added 136 new cases today, with 36 of those in Wellington County. Outbreaks continue at Royal Terrace in Palmerston, Birmingham Retirement in Mount Forest, and Caressant Care Harriston.
Huron-Perth Public Health reports 45 new cases today, with outbreaks continuing at 4 long-term care homes. Those include Braemar Nursing Home, Hillside Manor, Kingsway Lodge and Knollcrest Lodge. Outbreaks also continue at Caressant Care North Perth, Goderich Place, Maplewood Manor and Seaforth Manor.
Grey-Bruce Public Health reports 36 new cases with 12 people in hospital. Outbreaks continue at the Grey Bruce Health Services site in Wiarton. Outbreaks have been declared over at R Villa in Ripley and Maple Court Villa in Walkerton. However, 11 outbreaks are ongoing at other long-term care or retirement communities.
Those include Rockwood Terrace Long Term Care in Durham, Pinecrest Manor in Lucknow, Errinrung Nursing Home in Thornbury, Errinrung Retirment Home in Thornbury, McVean Lodge in Hanover, Parkview Manor in Chesley, Mapleview Long-Term Care Home in Owen Sound, Lee Manor in Owen Sound, Grey Gables in Markdale, Summit Place in Owen Sound and Season’s Owen Sound.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
