UPDATE: Section of Main Street in Listowel closed after transport hits building, one person taken to hospital

Police have closed a section of Main Street West in Listowel after a transport truck jumped the sidewalk and crashed into a building.

The road is closed from Livingstone Avenue east to Hwy. 23.

Images supplied by the OPP show the truck on the sidewalk and up against the buildings that house Diana Sweets Restaurant and Corley's Source for Sports. Police have now confirmed that the driver of the vehicle was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There were no passengers or pedestrians involved in the collision. Police say they expect the stretch of Main Street to be closed for several hours.

There are no other details at this time.

Fire, police and EMS are still on-scene.
