OPP investigating fatal crash involving horse & buggy

**Updated as of 11:03 p.m., January 25th, 2022**

Huron County OPP officers continue to investigate a fatal collision involving a horse & buggy and an SUV.

This morning at approximately 8:17 a.m. Huron County OPP, South Bruce OPP, Huron County Paramedic Services and North Huron Fire Department responded to the collision scene located on Howick-Turnberry Road (Huron County Road #7) near Kieffer Line. 

The operator of the horse and buggy was transported from the scene to hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. The deceased has now been identified as 27-year-old Morris-Turnberry native Jacob Wall.

Two occupants from the SUV were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team are assisting with the collision investigation.

All roadways are now open to traffic.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
