Truck convoy expected to leave Owen Sound Friday

With the truck convoy travelling the 401 towards Ottawa, there is a contingent from Grey County leaving on Friday.

There are plans for the local contingent to meet at the MTO pull off from Owen Sound at 9 a.m. Friday and leave by 9:30 a.m.

In a post to social media, the group is scheduled to travel through Chatsworth at 9:40 a.m., Flesherton at 10:10 a.m. and then arrive in Shelburne by 10:40 a.m.

From there organizers posted that the group would roll towards Orangeville and eventually the 401 to head to Ottawa.

Meanwhile, multiple police forces in the province are warning the convoy will have an effect on traffic.

The truck convoy is leaving Windsor Thursday morning on its way to Kingston before heading to Ottawa on Friday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
