Long list of charges against a Chatsworth man

A 51-year Chatsworth man faces multiple charges after a search at a property in late January.

The OPP Community Street Crimes Unit, OPP West Region Emergency Response Team, OPP West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, and Canine Unit searched a property in Chatsworth on January 27.

As a result police laid 11 charges against the suspect including three counts of a substance for the purpose of trafficking, firearm offences and uttering threats.

Police seized firearms, ammunition, and drugs suspected to be methamphetamine, hydromorphone, and other controlled substances.

OPP say as a result of the investigation, the OPP arrested the 51-year-old accused and charged him with:

-Three counts of possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking

-Two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm

-Two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammo

-Possession of a substance

-Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm

-Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

-Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

OPP say the individual was remanded into custody and will make a court appearance in Owen Sound at a later date and the charges have yet to be proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
