Extreme cold overnight in Grey County

Environment Canada has enacted an extreme cold warning for Grey County.

The weather agency said that the area may see a minimum low temperature near minus 25 degrees with wind chill values near minus 30 degrees overnight on Saturday and Sunday.

It's expected that the temperatures will regulate during the daytime.

"Extreme cold puts everyone at risk," Environment Canada advised in a statement.

"Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter," the agency added.

The public is warned to watch for cold-related symptoms including shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness, and colour change in fingers and toes.
