Disc golf courses a possibility in Hanover

The Town of Hanover is looking at the possibility of creating a disc golf course at one of its parks.

Council has voted to set up an ad-hoc committee made up of community members and representatives from council staff to examine the idea, with Mayor Sue Paterson saying that the course would "likely be at Hanover Park, but the committee will determine where it will be, but likely in one of our multi-use parks."

Disc golf, also called Frisbee Golf, sees players throw a disc at a target, while using rules very similar to golf.

Paterson says the committee was set up after a resident came forward and suggested the idea, saying he also had some friends that would be willing to get a committee together to plan a course layout and establish rules and regulations.

Paterson says the committee wants to get moving "as fast as they can", and are expected to get back to council with an official proposal shortly.
