Georgian Bluffs to make changes to water usage billing

Georgian Bluffs council has approved a change to how residents are billed for water.

During a Committee of the Whole meeting on Wednesday, council unanimously approved a motion to move from a lump sum system for paying for water to a "pay-per-use" system for three of its systems, including in Shallow Lake, starting on May 1st.

The move to the new system still has to be approved with the passing of a bylaw during a meeting currently scheduled for February 16th.

Changes to water bills would start in July for residents on the water systems of Shallow Lake, East Linton and Pottawatomi.
