One person in custody following incident that caused Walkerton school to go into lockdown

UPDATE (11:39 a.m.): South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police confirm one person was taken into custody following a short investigation regarding this incident.

UPDATE (11:07 a.m.): The lockdown at Walkerton District Community School has been lifted.

UPDATE (10:50 a.m.): The Bluewater District School Board confirms there is a lockdown currently in effect for Walkerton District Community School. The board says the lockdown is a safety precaution, and they are currently communicating with families regarding the situation.

There is a heightened police presence in Walkerton, according to Ontario Provincial Police.

South Bruce OPP say updates will be provided later, but there is a presence by police on Yonge Street between Cemetery Road and Browns Avenue in Walkerton, an area that includes Walkerton District Community School.
