25 trees damaged in Huron Township

Police are investigating after 25 trees were damaged along Boiler Beach Road in Huron Township.

South Bruce OPP got the call on February 11th, just after 5 p.m.

Police found that the trees had been girdled.

That is the action of cutting away the bark in a ring around the tree to interrupt the circulation of water and nutrients which can damage or kill the tree.

OPP warn destroying or damaging property is a criminal act and the maximum penalty for mischief, upon conviction, is two years in jail.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
