Slight uptick in COVID-19 cases reported in Midwestern Ontario

Some more pockets of COVID-19 cases are being reported today in Midwestern Ontario.

Huron-Perth Public Health is reporting 15 new cases today. 2 people are currently hospitalized with the virus, and 92 people have died as a result of COVID-19 since the pandemic began in Huron-Perth. Outbreaks continue at South Huron Hospital and Queensway Nursing Home.

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health is reporting 32 new cases with 15 of those in Wellington County. 48 residents have died so far during the pandemic from COVID-19 in Wellington County. An outbreak continues at Royal Terrace in Palmerston.

Grey-Bruce Public Health reports 36 new cases today, with 10 people in hospital with the virus. To date, there have been 31 deaths in Grey-Bruce from the virus. Outbreaks continue at 6 local long-term care and retirement homes. Those include Kelso Pines Retirement Home in Owen Sound, Maple Court Retirement Home in Walkerton, Grey Gables Long-Term Care in Markdale, R-Villa Retirement Home in Ripley, Central Place Retirement Home in Owen Sound and Choices Retirement Home in Hanover.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
