GBHS to close local COVID-19 assessment centres

Grey Bruce Health Services will close two local COVID-19 assessment centres next month.

In a release, GBHS says that due to "provincial restrictions on who is eligible for COVID-19 testing and declining local transmission of the virus, the GBHS Assessment Centres in Southampton and Lion’s Head Hospitals are closing as of March 1st." The release goes on to state that the assessment centre at the Owen Sound Hospital will remain open for testing and assessment for those that meet the criteria to be assessed. Any patients who are sick and come to any GBHS emergency department will continue to be tested for COVID-19 if required.

GBHS says they will "continue to monitor COVID-19 illness in our communities, and can ramp up services if demand increases."

Appointment booking for the GBHS Owen Sound Assessment Centre is available online at https://gbhs.simplybook.plus/v2/.
