Minto Mayor George Bridge will not seek re-election this fall

The Town of Minto will elect a new mayor later this year.

After 12 years in office, current Mayor George Bridge announced during Tuesday's council meeting that he will not seek re-election, citing a desire to spend more time with his family.

Bridge was first elected in 2010, and most recently took 53.51% of the vote in the 2018 Municipal Election against Terry Fisk.

He served as Warden of Wellington County in 2015-2016.

The 2022 Municipal Elections are scheduled to take place on Monday, October 24th.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
