Housing top theme in Huron County development plans

Huron County's Economic Development Department has identified Housing as one of their three main themes, along with Business and Sector Support and Infrastructure.

Economic Development Director, Vicki Lass, says the specific issue with housing in the severe shortage of affordable housing.

Part of what we're doing in our department, along with the Planning Department, is actually doing an inventory of what we have and what is to come, based on planning applications because, as we know, sometimes the process of getting started is a little longer than we would like.”

“There's a lot of activity in housing coming across Huron County and our partnering municipalities are really doing a great job in looking at their housing needs and getting some of those projects started. So there's a lot, actually, happening under the housing pillar," added Lass.
