Police charge trio in fraud case involving sale of lumber in Erin

Three people have been charged in connection with a fraud investigation involving $100,000 worth of lumber sold by a business in Erin.

Wellington OPP say the victims sold the lumber to some customers in late August of last year.

But then a week after the sale, the transaction was found to have been made using fraudulent credit card information.

Police have charged the owners of a Thornhill company and an associate.

The trio of men, who hail from Richmond Hill, Vaughan and North York, face charges including fraud and possession of property obtained by crime.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.

Police say $80,000 worth of lumber was recovered.
