UPDATE: Police investigating near Brucefield

One person was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound during an incident west of Brucefield.

Police were called to Bannockburn Line between Mill Road and Roman Road Sunday around 5:20 p.m.

In a release police say a man was air lifted to hospital where he remains with serious injuries. Officers took two suspects into custody on firearms-related charges.

Police believe this is an isolated incident and said there is no threat to public safety.

Bannock Burn Line remains closed in the area while the Huron County OPP Crime Unit investigates.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
