Police lay sexual assault charges

Perth County OPP have charged a Palmerston native after a recent alleged sexual assault incident in North Perth.

On March 8th, officers were contacted by an adult victim, who told police they were sexually assaulted at a residence in Listowel by a person the victim had met online on March 4th. Police acquired an arrest warrant, which they executed on March 21st when they arrested the accused in Gravenhurst. Following an investigation, the 32-year-old Palmerston native was charged with Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing. Police want to remind the public that victims of sexual assault/domestic violence are not alone. Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
