Long Term Care Home in Wellington placed into COVID-19 outbreak status

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health has placed the Oak Glen neighbourhood at the Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home into COVID-19 Outbreak status.

A release from the county says four residents have recently tested positive, and all of its residents are currently experiencing mild symptoms.

The county says staff "immediately responded to the situation with direction from Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health to limit further transmission of the virus."

No employees have cases of COVID-19 connected to this outbreak.

Wellington Terrace employees are tested more frequently than required by the Ministry of Health, and all visitors are rapid tested every time they enter the home.
