Attempted murder charge in connection with shooting near Brucefield

One person faces an attempted murder charge in connection with a recent shooting near Brucefield in Huron County.

Another person also faces charges.

Police were called to a Bannockburn Line address on March 20th just before 5:30 p.m. and found an adult victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim has since been released from hospital.

45-year old Jeffrey Williamson of Central Huron has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, careless use of a firearm and discharging a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner.

He remains in custody for a bail hearing today.

33-year old Donald Williams of Morris-Turnberry faces three charges including aggravated assault and careless use of a firearm.

He has since been released from custody and has a court appearance for May 2nd in Goderich.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.

In an earlier release, investigators had stated that they believed the incident was isolated, and that there was no evidence to suggest a threat to public safety.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
