South Bruce to receive $250,000 in provincial funding

MPP for Huron-Bruce, Lisa Thompson, announced Saturday that the Municipality of South Bruce will receive $250,000 in funding through Ontario’s Rural Economic Development (RED) Program.

The money is intended to redevelop a vacant building in the downtown core of South Bruce into a healthcare facility.

"This investment will support the residents of Teeswater in receiving the healthcare they need from new a medical centre, closer to home," Thompson said in a statement.

The project is one of 61 currently being supported by Ontario's government in rural communities. The RED program is meant to address barriers to economic development, and help rural communities with sustained growth and job creation.
