Huron County lifts State of Emergency

Huron County has announced the end of the State of Emergency that was declared on March 24th, 2020 in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Huron County Warden, Glen McNeil, notes that while recent provincial and public health announcements are encouraging, COVID-19 is still circulating in our communities, but adds, ending the State of Emergency is an important step in returning to normal.

McNeil adds, as local and provincial restrictions begin to ease, residents can expect County services and operations to continue to adjust according to the latest recommendations of health authorities.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
