Hanover announces new CAO

The Town of Hanover has hired a new CAO.

On August 31st this year, current CAO Brian Tocheri will be retiring after 8 years as the Hanover CAO.

Hanover Council announced in a recent release that after an extensive recruitment process, they will be hiring Sherri Walden beginning July this year.

In the release, the Town of Hanover notes that "Sherri joined the Town of Hanover in 1992. After serving 18 years as Recreation Programs Manager, Sherri progressed to Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture in 2010 and has spent the last 12 years successfully leading that department while also making many meaningful contributions to the Town as a whole."

Tocheri will work with Walden through July and August to ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities and easy continuation of local services.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
