Mapleton ready to move ahead with infrastructure project

A project in the works since 2019 in the Township of Mapleton is getting millions of dollars in federal and provincial support.

$3.6 million dollars worth of grants will go towards the Moorefield Water System Renewal Project.

In a release, Mayor Gregg Davidson stated Mapleton Council has been advocating since 2019 for the project.

The funding will support the rehabilitation of the drinking water system at the water treatment plant including various upgrades, replacements, and installations to improve water treatment facilities.

It will also improve access to potable water and increase efficiency of water treatment infrastructure.

The money was recently announced through the Green Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
