Police recover $10,000 worth of building materials

After a two-week-long fraud investigation, the Owen Sound Police Service (OSPS) recovered $10,000 worth of Home Depot products.

OSPS said that the goods were purchased using a stolen credit card on Saturday, April 16 and that the investigation followed the delivery of the products to a commercial rental unit. After obtaining a search warrant, police said the products were recovered and returned to the Home Depot.

As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old Owen Sound woman was arrested and faces several charges including fraud over $5,000.

The woman is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice – Owen Sound in May 2022.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
