Local fish pond opens for youth to fish

The Town of Saugeen Shores and the Saugeen Shores Police Service is advising residents that the Town Pond is now open for fishing to those aged 16 and younger.

The pond is a "catch and release" location, with a take-home limit of 2 fish per day.

The Rainbow Trout in the pond are supplied and released by the Lake Huron Fishing Club and the Ontario Steelheaders.

The fishing season runs from the start of May, until the end of June.

The pond is located at 581 Upper Avenue in Port Elgin.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
