Dozens of COVID-19 outbreaks continue in Midwestern Ontario

COVID-19 continues to cause outbreaks in Midwestern Ontario.

The Grey Bruce Health unit reported there are 13 ongoing COVID-19 outbreaks in Grey Bruce, and 16 residents are currently hospitalized with the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported 17 residents in hospital with COVID 19, and two in the ICU. There are 7 COVID-19 outbreaks across that region. Public health officials in Wellington County report 53 residents have succumbed to the virus.

Huron Perth Public Health reported 15 outbreaks of the virus in long term care, retirement homes, hospitals, and congregate living facilities. Huron Perth Public Health is confirming 107 fatalities from COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
