Volunteers needed to build seven Habitat for Humanity Homes on Saugeen First Nation

Habitat For Humanity Grey Bruce is looking for volunteers for their upcoming projects.

They’ve announced they’re building seven new single dwelling homes in Saugeen First Nation.

Their teams have begun the construction process, however they are actively recruiting new members to assist with building, starting in June.

“We are very pleased to be partnering with Saugeen First Nation to build safe, affordable and energy efficient homes for member families this year. Our Build is also providing employment for several members of the community and skills training for youth,” said Greg Fryer, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce.

"I appreciate all the hard efforts and work that has gone into Habitat for Humanity’s program here at Saugeen First Nation. Kudos to the families that are getting the new homes. Chi-miigwech,” said Lester Anoquot, Chief Saugeen First Nation.

Construction is expected to take up to 6 months to complete with the goal of the families moving into their new homes late fall.
