Alzheimer Society Huron Perth hosting Walk for Alzheimer’s events

Alzheimer Society Huron County and the Alzheimer Society Perth County have unified to become the Alzheimer Society Huron Perth.

As of April 1st this year, the two organizations are now one, and they have a local event coming up this month to help fundraise and continue the battle against Alzheimer's and research to combat the disease. On May 28th, the Walk for Alzheimer’s events will take place, with group walks and hybrid ways for others to walk that aren't comfortable walking in large groups. The theme this year is the 3,047 Challenge called “Walk Your Way”. Currently, 3,047 people are living with the Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias in Huron and Perth County and people are being encouraged to take 3,047 steps, one for each of those people.

Alzheimer Society Huron Perth says in a release that there will be eight hybrid locations in Clinton, Exeter, Goderich, Grand Bend, Listowel, St. Marys, Stratford, and Wingham. More information can be found by choosing one of those locations at www.walkforalzheimers.ca.
