Major Ukraine donation from the Rotary Club of Port Elgin

The Rotary Club of Port Elgin has donated $16,122.02 to the Canadian Red Cross in support of Ukraine.

The club raised $10,122.02. with a raffle from their Home and Food Expo this past April. And the club kept a promise to match the donation at up to $5000.

Kailtyn Shular, Founder of Shu's Humanitarian Relief, contributed an extra $1000.

The club sent a big thank you to all who purchased a raffle ticket, saying an amazing community is able to make a difference!

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
