25 Wellington Dufferin Guelph residents hospitalized with COVID-19

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reports 25 residents fighting COVID-19 in hospital, and one in the ICU with the virus.

Hospital acute care occupancy in the region is at 92.1%, and ICU occupancy is at 82%.

Wellington County has seen 53 fatalities due to the virus since the pandemic began.

There are no outbreaks being reported in Wellington County.

The public health department says unvaccinated individuals are in Ontario ICU's with COVID-19 at a rate that is over 5 x the rate of fully vaccinated residents.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
