Severe weather expected in Midwestern Ontario Saturday

A severe thunderstorm warning in effect for most of Huron and Perth Counties, and a severe thunderstorm watch in effect for Bruce County and southern Grey County.

Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to toonie size hail and heavy rain.

Environment Canada says take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles, and large hail can damage property and cause injury.

Severe thunderstorms can also produce tornadoes.

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
