County Director of Planning leaving for new post in Saugeen Shores

Bruce County's Director of Planning and Development is leaving his post, and taking on a new role in Saugeen Shores as Director of Development Services.

Mark Paoli begins his role this summer on June 24th as he brings over 30 years of planning experience to the office.

Town officials say his expertise ranges from senior policy planning and geographical information systems, to economic development and administration of the development process.

The position of Director of Development Services leads all activities dealing with planning and building in the town, along with engineering services and asset management.

Now, Bruce County begins the search for a new Director of Planning & Development.

Bruce County CAO Derrick Thomson says, "On behalf of the entire County, I would like to thank Mark Paoli for his public service and supportive leadership that helped our healthy and strong communities through the challenging times of the pandemic. Mark led initiatives that improved the County's land use planning services and built on the County's strong tourism, agriculture, and energy sectors. We wish Mark well in his new position."

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
