Fatal crash near Mildmay

One person is dead after a crash on Highway 9 just east of Mildmay.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. on Sunday and involved a motorcycle, SUV and a pick-up truck. South Bruce Fire Rescue and Bruce County Paramedic Services responded as did police.

The operator of the motorcycle was taken to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead. Police are not releasing a name until the family is contacted.

And investigators have not released information about the status of the occupants of the other vehicles.

Highway 9 was closed between Side Road 30 and Side Road 35 for the investigation but has since been reopened.

Police will release more details when available.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
