Local township honours Queen's Platinum Jubilee with tree planting ceremony

Huron-Kinloss recently honoured Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee with a tree planting ceremony in her honour.

The township hosted two tree planting ceremonies on May 20th to honour the Queen of England's 70 years of royal service, with local officials on hand to plant trees at the site of the former Whitechurch Hall, and on the grounds of the Point Clark Lighthouse. Two English Oak trees were generously donated by local resident Richard Christy. The release states that Christy "took inspiration from The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) initiative, a program focusing on enhancing the environment, sustainability, and planting a legacy that will benefit future generations."

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
