Police provide update on recent operation near Teeswater

The South Bruce OPP have provided more details on a recent police operation near Teeswater.

Police say in a release that on June 8th at 5 a.m., the Huron County OPP received a report of a fuel theft from a property along Patrick Street in Huron East. A white cube van was reported to be involved in the theft.

Under an hour later, South Bruce OPP received a report of an attempted vehicle theft in Teeswater. Responding officers received a description of a white cube van involved in the attempted theft.

Police found the suspect vehicle on a rural property along Concession 2 in Culross Township and investigators received information that the suspects potentially had firearms.

Officers executed a search warrant at the rural property and seized methamphetamine and fentanyl, the estimated street value of which was over $25,000. Police also recovered an extensive list of stolen property.

The stolen property that was recovered included:

·        GMC Sierra 2500

·        Chevrolet Silverado 1500

·        Ford F350

·        Ford F450 Cargo Van

·        Ford Excursion

·        Pontiac Firebird

·        Sea-Doo Boat

·        Utility Trailer

·        Can-Am All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV)

·        Yamaha ATV

·        Suzuki dirt bike

·        Ski-Doo snow mobile

·        KTM dirt bike

·        Car hauler trailer

·        Salem camper trailer

·        Brass Knuckles/Folding Knife

·        Six Pelican Kayaks

The combined value of the recovered stolen property is estimated to be $211,235. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone who may have information should contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
