Police lay charges following theft at local business

Perth County OPP have charged a 34-year-old Perth East native following a theft investigation at a local business.

Police say on June 9th, officers received a report regarding two thefts that had occurred between June 8th at 11:30 p.m. and the 9th at 4:30 a.m. at a business on Main Street in Milverton. Items that were stolen included a wheelbarrow, topsoil and peat moss. The value of the stolen goods was $750. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 34-year-old from Perth East with Theft Under $5,000.

The accused has been released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
